This license key is for BlackBerry Large Enterprise Servers and BlackBerry Professional Servers. BlackBerry Professional Servers use this licensing to get to the 30 user maximum before and uplift kit is required to make the server a large enterprise server. BlackBerry Large Enterprise Servers are usually licensed currently with 20 or more users and can scale up to 500 users or more on one server. There is also a 1 user version of the large enterprise BlackBerry Server that commonly gets confused with a small business server, BES Express or quickstart BES. This license will also work with this 1 user version but it is important that you know or verify that you have a large enterprise BES before purchasing.

If you have a BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1.3 or higher you can check your server’s license manager to correctly identify its type. You can do this on the BES server console by:
- Opening the BES console
- Left click once on BlackBerry Domain
- On the right side (tasks), click and expand the account section
- Click on license management
- License Type will identify the servers current licensing and this is also where you would enter the new key code once purchased

- This license key will NOT work on a small business BlackBerry Server if licensed below 20 users
- This license key will NOT work on a BES Express or Quickstart (FREE) BlackBerry Server if licensed below 20 users
